After 9 days this was to be the highlight of the trip. As a motorcyclist there are iconic roads one looks forward to do. Today we would be riding two of these roads. The Transalpina and the Transfagarasan (considered by many as the best road in the world).
Both are pretty much parallel so to do both you have to ride many kms and as expected this would be one of our longest days.
With so many curves my hands were sore at the end of the day of working the clutch.
The Transfagarasan was ridden in dense fog and we also caught some rain at the end and it is an experience we shall never forget.
Truly epic !
We also visited the Salina Turda, which is a salt mine and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The air is very dry inside and it feels great to the lungs. The temperature is a bit chilly and when one comes out the body feels the difference and starts sweating until it readjusts. Well worth a visit.
We also took some time to eat lunch in the Transalpina and we are staying in an hotel in the middle of the Transfagarasan.
